Woofings, furiends, and a furry merry Christmas to you!
I hope that Santa finds you – wherever you are! He certainly seems to find me when I’m on my sailing holibobs.
(Remember, here in New Zealand it is summer at Christmas time, because we live south of the equator. So I often get to celebrate Christmas on the boat and in the sunshine!)
Do you like this westie Christmas cartoon?
There are more westie smiles where this came from!
This cartoon is from my book ‘Minnie The Westie – Sailor Dog Vacation’… check it out on Amazon.com and other online bookstores!
(In the book, you’ll find out if Santa found me – and if so – what I got for Christmas… plus many more adventures!)
This month’s westie cartoon is loosely based on my sailing adventures! (Remember, here in New Zealand, Christmas falls in the summer holidays, because we are in the Southern Hemisphere and the seasons are reversed.)
Yes, there really are wild turkeys… *drools*… Unfortunately I have never been up close to one, as mum and dad won’t let me chase them. Spoilsports!

This Minnie The Westie cartoon seems appropriate right now, seeing as I have been enjoying watching the America’s Cup sailing regatta… The teams were competing on 72′ catamarans!
(And yes, when I go on sailing holibobs, I do rather miss seeing – and chasing – cats!)
Thank you so much for all the pawsome reader reviews I’ve received on my new cartoon book!

That’s not all!
My cartoon book also got featured in Boating New Zealand magazine – an otherwise strange place for a cartoon dog to appear, but pawfect for a sailor dog!
Where can you get Minnie The Westie’s cartoon books?
My new cartoon book is in paperback format, and is currently available from Amazon.com andAmazon.co.uk.
Apawlogies for being quite over the past few weeks… not only have I been resting up after my book recent book launch, but I have been busy watching the America’s Cup sailing regatta on TV! (I am a keen sailor dog, after all!)
My home team, Emirates Team New Zealand, did well but not quite well enough to win.
It was a very nerve-wracking event that went on for a number of weeks!
I watched nearly every race… and I was very sad when my team didn’t win.
Watching avidly… Please don’t interrupt me… OMD I can’t look any more… *grump, they lost*…

My mum and dad have a small sailboat, and we go cruising on it every summer for two or three weeks. (We also race the boat every two weeks, so yeah, I’m an experienced sailor dog!)
As you can imagine, I have some pawsome adventures when we’re cruising – on the boat, and on land.
So come and join me on my adventures at sea… don’t worry if you’ve never been on a boat before, I’m an experienced sailor dog, so you’re in good paws!

Title: Minnie The Westie – Sailor Dog Vacation: The Adventures Of A Cartoon West Highland Terrier Cartoon Dog At Sea!
Book release: Sailor dog vacation – cartoon book for dog lovers of all ages
Auckland author Cornelia Luethi is launching her second cartoon book, “Minnie The Westie: Sailor Dog Vacation – The Adventures Of A West Highland Terrier Cartoon Dog At Sea!” on 2 September 2013. The cartoons are based on Cornelia’s real-life dog, Minnie, a West Highland White Terrier, who enjoys sailing.
Announcing Minnie The Westie’s second cartoon book.
Minnie The Westie lives in Auckland, New Zealand – a place known as “The City Of Sails”. Minnie goes cruising on her owners’ sailboat for her summer vacation, and the cartoons depict the adventures through a dog’s eyes.
Like the first Minnie The Westie book, the cartoons appeal to dog lovers of all ages. “I get fan emails from seven year-old children, right through to mature-aged people,” says author Cornelia Luethi.
“Minnie The Westie has a broad appeal, much like Snoopy or Garfield.”
Minnie The Westie has a particularly strong following in the US and UK, especially on Facebook and Twitter, where the cartoon dog enjoys a loyal following.
“Dogs have the ability to charm people and make them feel good about themselves, and it’s those feel-good qualities I wanted to convey in the cartoons. But dogs can be naughty, too, so there’s definitely some of that in the Minnie The Westie cartoons as well,” says Cornelia Luethi.
“Minnie The Westie: Sailor Dog Vacation – The Adventures Of A West Highland Terrier Cartoon Dog At Sea!” is available as a paperback from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk from 2 September 2013 (ISBN 978-0-473-24672-3).
A Kindle eBook will be available from October 2013.

Minnie is a pedigree West Highland White Terrier living in Auckland, New Zealand… known as the “City of Sails”. Minnie sails regularly, participating in fortnightly Richmond Yacht Club races (snoozing in the cabin) all year round. In summer Minnie goes cruising around the Hauraki Gulf with her owners on their Elliott 7.9m keelboat, called “FX”.
About Cornelia Luethi
Swiss-born Cornelia Luethi has emigrated twice in her life: first to England, where she was educated, then later she moved to Auckland, New Zealand. Auckland has been her home for over ten years, where Cornelia enjoys sailing.
This is the first Minnie The Westie cartoon book, which enjoys 5-star reviews on Amazon.com.
Although Cornelia enjoyed drawing at school, she only picked up her sketchbook again in 2010, which is when she created the Minnie The Westie cartoon character.
Cornelia is a self-employed author, copywriter and marketing consultant.
The first Minnie The Westie book was launched in September 2011, entitled “Minnie The Westie – The Adventures Of A West Highland Terrier Cartoon Dog” (ISBN 978-0-473-19504-5).
This first book enjoys positive reviews and a 5-star rating on Amazon.com.

Impawtant information for Minnie Mail readers using Gmail
Gmail has recently made some changes to the way it handles email, by setting up a “tabbed” In Box. Gmail now sorts your email into different categories, such as Primary, Promotions, Social, Updates, etc. (If your Gmail account doesn’t have this yet, it’ll be coming soon as a default.)
Minnie Mail automatically gets put into the “Promotions” tab
… and there is nothing that I can do about this. (Google doesn’t listen to dogs often enough!)
Pawhaps you are quite happy with Minnie Mail going to the Promotions tab.
If not, there are 2 things you can do:
1. Either: Make Gmail put Minnie Mail in your “Primary” tab:
Click on the “Promotions” tab
Find one of my emails and drag it to the “Primary” tab. Then, make sure you click “Yes” when the alert pops up. Do this for any of the emails you want to see right away.
2. Or: Get rid of tabs altogether, if you find them annoying:
If you want to remove these new tabs, follow these steps:
Go to the “Settings” box in the upper right hand corner of your inbox and select “Settings.”
Click on “Configure Inbox” and unselect all of the categories except “Primary” and then save your changes.
